Cavapoo Coat/Shedding
The Cavapoo is a beloved breed, known for its adorable looks and temperament. Many potential dog owners are drawn to them, especially those seeking a hypoallergenic companion. However, it's important to note that determining a dog's hypoallergenic status is not possible, no breeder can guarantee how a Cavapoo's coat will mature. While often we find Cavapoo shed very little, like humans they will all shed their hair at some point. What we find in our dogs is the curlier the coat the less they shed on a daily basis if any and have found the smoother silkier coat may take more form of the cavalier and shed slightly more. Always approach this aspect with caution and understand that individual reactions may vary. When generations are diluted you often find their coats to be more unpredictable which we find has its benefits in forms of their genetic health.
Grooming
Cavapoo coats come in a delightful array of colors, lengths, and textures, influenced by their parent breeds. Depending on whether they inherit a longer, silky coat from the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel or a short, curly coat from the Poodle or somewhere in between, grooming needs will vary. Regular brushing is essential to prevent knots and tangles, with professional grooming recommended every 6-8 weeks.
While Cavapoo's typically have a sweet disposition and tolerate grooming well, it's beneficial to introduce them to the process gently from day one.

Although Cavapoos are generally low shedding, this is not the case for all. Depending on the type of coat they have, some dogs can shed quite a lot of hair and all Cavapoos shed dander (flakes of skin found in an animal’s fur) that some owners can be allergic to.

Teeth -Dental issues are common in Cavapoos so be sure to clean their teeth regularly to remove plaque and maintain good oral hygiene.
Eyes/Ears- Use a damp cloth to clean around your dog’s eyes and ears to remove tear stains and prevent the build-up of wax.
