Meet the Breeder

A Lifetime Dedicated to Dogs.

My name is Becky Swainston, and dogs have been at the centre of my life for as long as I can remember.

I live with my children, Jake, Isla and Joss in County Durham in the North East of England on a smallholding, where our home is shared with our dogs and a wide variety of animals including horses, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, ferrets, and more. Life here is busy, hands-on, and completely focused around animal care and family living.

Our dogs are not kennel dogs, they are family members who live in our home although they do have their own luxury Summerhouse, they share our space, and are part of our everyday lives.

Decades of Experience in Dogs.

My journey in dogs began many years ago, and I have been involved in breeding and showing since 1998.

For over 26 years, I successfully had one of the most successful show kennels in the UK under the Emberez affix, specialising in the Dogue de Bordeaux.

During this time, we achieved:

Over 100 Champion titles
Multiple Crufts Best of Breed wins
Champions bred and shown across the UK and worldwide
A long-standing reputation for quality, structure, and breed type

Emberez, became widely recognised all over the world for the higest standards for the breed.

This background gave me an incredibly strong foundation in canine structure, health, temperament, and responsible breeding at the highest level.

Alongside breeding and showing, I have also worked as a:

This experience has given me a practical, real-world understanding of canine care, health and welfare, all of which influence every breeding decision I make today.

Why I Now Focus on Cavapoos and being a Cavapoo breeder.

As life evolved and our family grew, I wanted a breed that fit seamlessly into a busy, family-focused home environment.

We chose Cavapoos because they are:

Affectionate and people-focused
Intelligent and trainable
Well suited to family life
Naturally sociable and adaptable

They are dogs that thrive on companionship, which suits our home perfectly.

Our Cavapoos are raised in a home environment, surrounded by everyday family life, sounds, and experiences to help prepare them for their future homes.

Our Breeding Philosophy and breeding health tested Cavapoo puppies.

Everything we do is centred around responsible, thoughtful and loving breeding.

We carefully select our breeding dogs based on:

Health testing results
Temperament and stability
Structure and type
Suitability for family homes

We believe breeding should always be focused on producing healthy, well-balanced puppies that are suitable for real family life not just appearance.

Health testing is an essential part of our programme, and all of our breeding dogs are fully DNA screened for relevant hereditary conditions.

Supporting First-Time Dog Owners.

A large number of our puppy families are first-time dog owners, and this is something we take great pride in supporting.

I am often described as approachable, supportive, and always willing to help. I understand that bringing a puppy home can feel overwhelming, especially for the first time, so we remain available for guidance and reassurance throughout their journey.

For us, breeding does not end when a puppy leaves, it is a long-term commitment to every family we place a puppy with.

I support many anxious families with special needs and requirements and a huge joy for me is when they arrive to collect their puppy and they meet me, see my home and my dogs and you can see the anxiety melt away when they see their puppy has been raised exactly as described.
